GregLanier > I caught this bird (I have no idea what kind it is) at Orange Beach on March 20, 2008.
I have since been told this is a Brown Pelican.
GregLanier > I've had about as many comments about this photo as any I've ever taken. I was trying to process it in color and it just didn't work and I left it out of the mix. I came later and thought I should crop it tight and just show her face. Then I converted it to black and white and knew immediately that was the look for this photo. I got this through trial and error and luck. I have no idea who this woman is so if anyone knows please contact me. Photo comes from the 2007 Toys for Tots race.
GregLanier > Actually not a picture I took, my son took it on 3/15/08. I was out shooting and had 2 camera bodies and let him use one. Ended up being a good shot once I recovered the highlights. This is a cabin we have in a rural/remote area in Macon County.
GregLanier > A friend of mine told me how he tries to take at least one photo per day so he can a) learn and b) stay sharp with his skills. Plus I just wanted a place to put interesting photos or just photos I like for one reason or the other. This first photo was taken March 15, 2008 on some property we own which I discovered was on fire. It was a small brushfire started from a debris pile left alone to burn. You can see the pines are all bent due to the high winds. Believe it or not I put the fire out with my boots, the only thing I had, then I went and got help. Eventually we got it all under control.
GregLanier > Penny Merritt-Price took this photo with my camera, I guess she was taking cheesecake shots too but it's a nice shot of Janice Caudill.
GregLanier > From left: Karen Khodadadi, Penny Merritt-Price, Tonya Klem, Beth Ladisla, Bob Frumkin & Lauren Woods on the morning on the ill-fated Chicago Marathon. The 2007 Marathon was stopped due to very hot temperatures and lack of water but we still had a great time.
GregLanier > Jesse Sackett at the half way point in the Chicago Marathon.
GregLanier > A castle with a beautiful sky located in Germany along the Rhine River.
GregLanier > I have no idea who this is, just thought it was a good photo.
